Hello Hopper Families!
Have you walked around our school this month? Besides a fresh coat of paint, we also have a new outdoor sitting area!! Again, a HUGE thank you to the Guarino family for the covering the balance of the cost for our outdoor sitting area. We are also very grateful for the 6 families who came help set it all up. Let me quickly point out that we don't want our volunteers to get burned out, so, if you can help out even if for just 30 minutes, we would love to have you give us a hand so we can keep doing these school projects for our children and teachers. If you have moved to another school district or if you child is not going to Reidenbaugh any longer, just send us an email with unsubscribe on the subject line.
First day of school is right around the corner. Before summer vacation is over, however, we would like to invite all the Reidenbaugh families to our Ice Cream Social tomorrow, August 23 from 5:00 to 6:00pm at the back of the school. This is a great opportunity for our kids to reconnect with classroom and meet new friends. It's also a very relaxed and fun way for the new kids to get to know their teachers as well as the other kids going to the same grade.
GIRLS ON THE RUN: Registration started the week of August 8. Practices will start Thursday, September 6 and be held every Monday and Friday from 3:45 to 5:15 pm. The Girls on the Run 5K will be on November 10. You can register at www.gotrlancaster.org. Financial assistance is available through GOTR. SAFETY PATROL: On August 24, from 10 to 11am, the incoming Safety Patrols have training in the auditorium with Mrs. Eachus and Mr. Carney.
1ST DAY OF SCHOOL: We are getting ready for our first day of the 2018-2019 School Year! Next Monday, August 27, school starts for grades 1 through 4. The Kindergartners will have an open house from 10am to 12pm and from 4:30 to 6:30pm, where they should come with their parents to meet their teachers. The first day of school for kindergarten is Tuesday, August 28. Reidenbaugh opens its doors at 8:45am. School starts at 9:00am.
SUMMER BINGO: This was sent home in Report Card Envelopes. To participate in the Summer BINGO Challenge, just color in the activities that you complete. Then, count up how many you do in each row and total at the bottom. If you complete at least 25/50 activities, you will earn a special treat in next month. Forms are due to your teacher by Wednesday,September 5.
PTO BOARD MEMBERS: We are looking for volunteers to share the eblast as this is the last year for this parent. If you are curious of what it is, please contact Chris Drew at christiedrew@gmail.com. She can let you know exactly what would be involved! We are also looking for a new director for this year's school play.
