PSSA Testing
Hello Hopper Families!
As you know, PSSAs begin Tuesday, April 25th. To encourage our 3rd and 4th graders who are testing, we'd like to invite families to come help "CHALK THE WALK" on Monday, 4/24 from 6-7pm. We plan to write encouraging, upbeat, positive messages/mantras that will boost our students' confidence and make them smile! Weather permitting, we'll be chalking the car rider entrance and the bus rider (front) entrance. It would be great if you have chalk to bring, but we'll have some available too. Drop in whenever you'd like between 6-7ish. Fingers crossed for no rain!
Friendly reminder that during testing days, no visitor/parent helpers are allowed in the building.
ELA: April 25th, 26th, and 27th
MATH: May 2nd and 3rd
SCIENCE: May 4th and 5th
Another way we will be showing our support for our 3rd and 4th graders, we will have PSSA COLOR DAYS! We encourage all students to participate.
Tuesday, April 25th- Be Brave! Wear a RED shirt to school. Red is the color of bravery & encourages confidence.
Wednesday, April 26th- Just Chill! Wear a BLUE shirt to school. Blue is very calming & aids in intuition.
Thursday, April 27th-Victory! In ancient Greece, green was the color of victory. Wear a GREEN shirt to show your victory!
Tuesday, May 3rd- Your future’s so bright! Wear NEON to show off your bright future!
Wednesday, May 4th- A Bit of Sunshine! Wear a YELLOW shirt to school. Yellow activates your mind & puts a smile on your face!
Thursday, May 4th- Wear BLACK and get ready to tackle the science PSSA!
Friday May 5th- Wear a PURPLE shirt to school. Purple is the color of royalty! You’ve conquered the PSSA like a king or queen!
KINDERGARTEN REGISTRATION: Please help spread the word to friends & neighbors! Ms. Capoferri and the Kindergarten team are eager to meet next year’s incoming Hoppers. We have some opportunities coming up for new Kindergarteners to visit us, BUT, they MUST be registered! Now is the time!
TEACHER APPRECIATION WEEK: A little bit of nostalgia, a whole lot of appreciation! During the week of May 8th, the PTO will be spoiling our *totally rad* teachers to an 80s-themed week full of food, treats, and fun! There are still some open spaces on the signup genius that need to be filled. Please consider donating. Please note that all donations must be handed in by Monday, April 24th.
Cultural Spring Festival: This will be held on Friday, May 19th, from 6:00pm-8:00pm. Join us with the whole family for food trucks, carnival games, music, and cultural tables from our RES families. If you are interested in hosting one of the Cultural Tables, please signup on the signup genius. Please keep an eye on your child's folder as more detailed information about Give and Get tickets, and ways to get involved will be coming home. LOOKING FOR A SUMMER MATH TUTOR?
Tom Saurer, a former teacher of Reidenbaugh Elementary and current 5th Grade Teacher at Landis Run Intermediate, will be tutoring math this summer (Grades 2-5)!
