Hello Hopper Families!
Well, it looks like the winter started very slowly with snow during winter break, almost no snow in January and all the snow will fall in the month of March. We already have a two hour delay for tomorrow, Monday, March 4. Keep your eyes open, maybe we will even have more snow days ahead of us! Hey, let's enjoy this school year before it gets hectic with the Spring events, PSSA, end of school year, shall we?! This will be a super fun week!! We have literacy week, PTO meeting, Hopperville Bookstore and Reidenbaugh Play at the end of the week. Don't forget to read below our literacy week events, your child won't want to miss this.
LITERACY OLYMPICS: One of the most fun weeks of the year is almost here!! From March 4 to March 8, Reidenbaugh celebrates literacy. Make note of the following events for that week:
Monday, March 4 - Cat in the Hat Day, wear your favorite hat
Tuesday, March 5 - Favorite "Book" Character Day, dress as your favorite character from a book
Wednesday, March 6 - Tour of Doors and Fox in Socks - wear crazy socks
Thursday, March 7 - Thing 1 and Thing 2 Day - Grab a friend and dress as twins
Friday, March 8 - Green Eggs and Ham Day - Wear green
YEARBOOK: We have had people asking about the yearbook order form. For those students who didn't order they yearbook, the forms were sent home last month. This is your last chance to order this year's yearbook. We are extending the due date to Friday, March 15. As always, you can order it directly by going to Lifetouch's website. If you did NOT receive an order form then you already ordered your yearbook back in November/December!
PTO MEETING: Our next PTO Meeting is on Tuesday, March 5th, room 104 RES. PTO is a great way to be more involved with the school and a great way to meet a wonderful group of people! And yes, you can come dressed as your favorite character from a book:-)
HOPPERVILLE BOOKSTORE: Our next Hopperville sale is on Wednesday, March 6th. Get your change ready! Hopperville is a great way to get books for as low as .25!
ANNIE JR.: You won't want to miss Reidenbaugh's latest production, Annie Jr. Friday & Saturday's show are now SOLD OUT! The only tickets remaining are for Thursday, March 7 at 7:00pm. Tickets are $4 each; Fill out and send in the bottom part of the flyer your child received this week and cash or checks made out to Reidenbaugh PTO.
4th GRADE CELEBRATION: Calling all 4th graders' parents!! The second meeting for our 4th Grade celebration will be on Thursday, March 14th from 6:00-7:00, at room 104. Please contact Jaime Costanzo at jaime71778@comcast.net with or Kelly Kline at Kelly@kellykline.us with any questions.
BOOK FAIR: From March 20 - 27 is our annual Book Fair. We are getting ready for this event and we need volunteers.This is such a fun event, you won't want to miss an opportunity to help our students. If you are interested in helping out, please contact Kim Topf at kjtopf@gmail.com.
ART & CULTURE NIGHT: As you know, we are doing an Art & Culture Night in March. If you have any ideas or are interested in showcasing your country or just helping with the Culture event, please contact Ada Emuwa at adankem1@yahoo.com or 617-869-9136. EDUCATION FORECAST BREAKFAST: The Education Forecast Breakfast exists to highlight exciting trends in education, connect with the business community, and act as a fundraiser for the Manheim Township Educational Foundation. Funds raised from this event are used for grants to enhance academic, athletic and artistic opportunities for all Manheim Township students. The MTEF Fundraising committee has put together a special offer for MT parents wishing to attend our Education Forecast Breakfast on April 11 at the Lancaster Country Club. Get a group of 8 parents together and you can purchase a table together and save $80! Click here for the flyer.
SPRING FESTIVAL: We are looking for sponsors for the Spring Festival. Sponsors will be featured in the event program, will have professional signage with their sponsorship, and will have their logo displayed on the event banner. From the office: If your student is a car rider for the day, please send in a note. No changes may be made to a student's transportation after 3:00pm.
Students arriving after the 9:00AM bell must come to the school accompanied by a parent or guardian. The student must be signed in at the front office by the parent or guardian.
Please send in an excuse note the date your student returns from an absence.
An educational trip request form must be received in the office 1 (one) week prior to the absence or it will not be approved. All school work missed during the trip will be provided after the absence.
