Reidenbaugh Newsletter September 18

Hello Reidenbaugh families!!

School now is in full swing and we can see the kids are making new discoveries and learning new things. Mine has been doing the "water cycle" dance. Picture day was a success, by the way. I love seeing the big smile on the kids' faces.

With the recent hurricane devastation in parts of the country, we need to be grateful for what we have. It's also time to come together and help out those in need. Nothing touches us more than kids who can't have this wonderful school experience because of the hurricane destruction. We applaud and support the Chavises with the Back Packs of Hope initiative. Please read below.

BACK PACKS OF HOPE: As we all know, Texas was severely hurt by hurricane Harvey. As you may not know, we have a family, the Chavises, who launched a Back Packs of Hope Campaign with the support of the Manheim Township District. They are working with school district down in Vidor, TX and all of the donations will be delivered to them the week of Sept.25. We will have a collection bins in each of the 9 schools throughout our school district. Richard Chavis needs backpacks and basic school supplies to fill them up. After the enormous destruction of Harvey, imagine how we can brighten these kids` lives by giving them new backpack with school supplies for them to start their school year. We have less than a week to get backpacks and school material into the Reidenbaugh collection bin. Here is the flyer. For more information, please contact Richard at (717) 406-6835 or richard.chavis97@gmail.com.

BINGO: Our Back to School Bingo Night is this Friday, September 22! Yeah!! It starts at 6:00pm sharp and goes until 7:30pm. If you have never been to one of our Bingo Nights, you have to come to this one. It's great!! You will get to meet other parents, find out who your child's new friends are and get a chance to win some fun prizes.

RACE FOR EDUCATION: As you know, the website is live now. Reidenbaugh kids are counting on you to help them raise funds by asking sponsors to contribute a tax deductible donation to our PTO. Please go to www.race4ed.com/res to sponsor your student. Remember, the proceeds will be used to directly benefit your child's educational experience at Reidenbaugh for the next two (2) school years! Think of relative, friends, neighbors, business associates, coaches and anyone else you know who would want to invest in your child's education and forward them the link for sponsors.

STUDENT DIRECTORY: Reidenbaugh Student Directory Registration is open! Have you signed up for our Reidenbaugh Student Directory yet? Our goal is to get this directory to you by the end of October. If you haven’t signed up for the directory, do it now! Remember, only the families who sign up for the Reidenbaugh 2017-2018 Student Directory will receive a copy of the directory. To register in the student directory just go to our website ReidPTO.com and click on the registration button. To make it easier, just click here for the link.

From the office: If your student is a car rider for the day, please send in a note. No changes may be made to a student's transportation after 3:00pm.

Please send in an excuse note the date your student returns from an absence.

An educational trip request form must be received in the office 1 (one) week prior to the absence or it will not be approved. All school work missed during the trip will be provided after the absence.

Closed toed shoes are really helpful for playground and recess time. It's also important that sneakers are won on Gym days.
