Happy Labor Day
Happy Labor Day Reidenbaugh Family!
As we start the second week of school I'd like to remind you that the parents' homework (the many forms sent home on the first day of school) should be completed and signed accordingly and sent back to school. In two days we will have our back to school night. Lot's of information will be given that day. Take one step at a time. We are here for you.
One of the papers that went home with your child last week was the Reidenbaugh Committee Chairmen and the Volunteer signup sheet. This would be a wonderful opportunity to shadow the chairmen, without any pressure. Please consider it. One of the events might really talk to you, like the Give Back, or the Yearbook.... Just think about it for now.
BACK TO SCHOOL PARENT NIGHT: Back to School night is this Wednesday, September 6. This is a special night for the parents. Teachers will open their classroom to the parents to come in and see where their children sit, what they have done so far, what they will learn this year and set up a teacher-parent conference date (that will take place in November). Parents will also get to hear from Mrs. Smith, our principal and meet us, PTO parents. This is for parents only. You can choose either the 6:00 to 6:25pm or the 7:05 to 7:30pm. Either way, make sure you attend the Parent Session in the auditorium at 6:35pm.
WISH LIST: We are in need of 2.5 gallon ziplock bags for our library books. Actually, it's for our kids to use for their library books so we need at least one per child. Please send in your donations to the PTO. Thank you in advance!
RACE FOR EDUCATION: This event will take place next month but it actually starts NOW! Reidenbaugh PTO is organizing Race for Education with the purpose of raising funds for school assemblies, school play, family events and other educational needs. The proceeds will be used to directly benefit your child's educational experience at Reidenbaugh for the next two (2) school years! Our goal is to raise $25,000 for our school. Please keep your eyes open for the information package going home this week.
REIDENBAUGH CLUBS: Do you have a passion? Or maybe you have acquired one recently? Or you are good at something, like jumping rope or dance? Or you have that book on Origami that you have never really used... Now is your chance to pass on a little of what you know or love or have, to our children. It's one morning a week for 45 minutes only. If you are interested in facilitation a club this fall, please email Leslee Forman at lesleeforman@gmail.com by Friday, September 15, 2017. The kids thank you!!!
SUMMER READING BUCKET LIST: Did your child bring back his/her Reading Response and Summer Journal? Now is the time to bring it back to school. They can turn it in to Mrs. Eachus or their teachers for a little surprise. We have linked here the Reading Response and the Summer Journal.
RECYCLING IN THE LIBRARY: Don't forget to send those birthday cards, greeting cards, thank you cards, etc to our library to be turned into bookmarks! Just a few per family will be enough. If you have any questions, feel free to contact Mrs. Winters at winterka@mtwp.net.
X2F FALL 2017 SEASON: Xcel2 Fitness, X2F, is a national fitness and leadership development program for boys in graders 3-5. I know you're familiar with Girls on the Run, this is similar, but it's for boys only. After a 6-week training program, we end with "The Big Event" - an obstacle course using the physical activities the boys learned throughout the program. This past spring we had 10 schools from throughout the Susquehanna Valley participate. We are looking for 2 coaches for theX2F Fall 2017 season! If you are willing to coach a group of Reidenbaugh boys or if you have any questions, please contact Bill Caloviras (717) 278-1745 or billc@xcel2fitness.com.
